Restraining order

The application for a restraining order is made by the police or prosecuting authority, decisions for a restraining order is made by a prosecutor or a court. Restraining orders can be made even if you do not explicitly requested it.

 

Four types of restraining orders:

First Restraining order: Where the prohibition applies must not the stalker visit, contact or follow after the protected person.

 

Second Extended the restraining order: Where the prohibition applies the stalker must not visit or be near the protected person's residence, workplace or other places where he or she usually is.

 

Third in particular, extended restraining order: Where the prohibition applies must the stalker not reside in the area around the protected person's residence, workplace or other places where he or she usually is.

 

4th Restraining order in common property: Where the prohibition applies must the stalker/perperator not be in a dwelling that is shared with the protected person. You can apply for a restraining order in the common property if there is a risk that the person you live with will commit crimes against you, such as threats or assault. This means that the perpetrator can not be in the shared home.

In particularly vulnerable situations, a dignitary may be necessary. In cases where the police are unable to provide personal protection, you can turn to private actors.
